Optical Sheet Technology Expansion to Automotive and Mobile Applications

In recent years, in-automotive applications of LCD backlight displays have progressed, and projection-type HUDs in particular are expected to expand. As a characteristic of in-vehicle applications, optical sheets are also required to be heat-resistant and vibration-resistant. Meanwhile, for self-emissive displays such as OLED, which have made remarkable progress in the mobile field such as smartphones and tablets, optical sheets are required to protect the display surface, have low reflectivity, and are flexible. In this presentation, we will introduce optical sheets characterized by the heat resistance and vibration resistance required for in-vehicle displays, and technology for low-reflection surface protection sheets compatible with self-emissive displays.
